Find your fit in one minute. Every kimono is cut for a relaxed drape, so the rule is simple: between two sizes, take the larger one. The Size guide button on every product shows the chart for that piece, plus the maker's own measurements when they exist. Free size exchanges within 30 days of delivery.
1. Chest. Lay a kimono you love flat and measure under the arms, seam to seam, then double it. On your body: around the fullest part of your chest, tape flat.
2. Length. From the top of the shoulder straight down to the hem. Robes fall to the ankle, jackets and haori sit at the hip.
3. Sleeve. From the shoulder seam to the cuff. Kimono sleeves are wide by design and never need to be fitted.
Between two sizes? Take the larger one. The classic drape needs room.
Sizes offered: S to 5XL depending on the robe, and about one robe in three comes in one size that fits most. Relaxed cut, ankle to thigh length, tie belt. The chart below gives the measurements; one-size robes list their own numbers in the Size guide button.

I am between two sizes, which one do I take?
The larger one. A kimono is meant to drape, and the tie or obi belt takes up the difference at the waist.
Where do I find the exact measurements of a piece?
Open the Size guide button next to the size selector. It shows the chart for that piece in centimeters and inches, with your selected size highlighted, and the maker's own numbers on top when they exist.
Do kimono robes run small?
They are cut relaxed. Compare the chest measurement with a robe you already own, laid flat, rather than with your usual dress size.
What if the size is wrong when it arrives?
Email info@zenkimono.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number. We exchange directly for another size, color or style, as long as the piece is unworn with its tags.
Are men's and women's sizes the same?
No. Men's pieces have their own size range. Always use the sizes shown on the product you are buying.
