A red kimono printed with cherry blossom, peony and crane motifs, made from a cotton and polyester blend and cut to fall to the ankle. It follows the traditional Japanese silhouette closely, with a straight, wide body and dropped sleeves rather than the fitted cut you see on the beach cover ups nearby. The red base makes the pale pink cherry blossom print stand out, and the crane detail nods to a much older tradition of pairing blossoms with birds in Japanese textile design.
The cotton and polyester blend keeps the fabric from being too heavy for the ankle length, and the medium size is built with a bit of extra room through the bust and shoulders so the wide sleeves keep their shape.
Wear it open over a plain dress for an evening out, or belted on its own for something closer to a statement piece. Because the print is placed rather than all-over, it works year round, not only during cherry blossom season, and it dresses up a plain black outfit without needing anything else.

How do I care for my kimono?
Follow the care label on your piece. Cotton and polyester kimonos usually take a cold, gentle wash and hang to dry. Silk and satin pieces prefer a gentle hand wash in cold water, no wringing and no tumble dryer.
