Underneath the velvet-look surface, the fabric is a stretch spandex-polyester blend, so it moves and dries the way a beach layer needs to, rather than behaving like heavy true velvet. That combination gives you the richer look without the weight or the slow drying time.

How do I care for my kimono?
Follow the care label on your piece. Cotton and polyester kimonos usually take a cold, gentle wash and hang to dry. Silk and satin pieces prefer a gentle hand wash in cold water, no wringing and no tumble dryer.
