This nightgown and robe set comes in white with a soft floral branch print scattered across the fabric, cut long enough to skim the ankle. The satin finish is smooth against the skin, with just enough shine to feel a little dressed up without trying hard. It reads more elegant than a plain bathrobe, closer to something a Kyoto ryokan would leave folded on the bed.
It is built as two pieces that work together: a matching nightgown underneath and a robe that ties at the waist over it. Wear the set together for bed, or split it up: the robe over the gown for a slow morning with coffee, the gown alone on a warm night when you want less fabric. The floral branch print keeps both pieces looking put together even when you are still half asleep.
Let the robe hang open over the nightgown for a dressing gown look, or knot the tie at the waist for a cleaner shape under a cardigan. The fabric has enough give to layer over pajamas too, if you want extra warmth on cooler nights. It packs flat for travel and does not wrinkle the way cotton does. Skip the iron. How do I care for my kimono?
Follow the care label on your piece. Cotton and polyester kimonos usually take a cold, gentle wash and hang to dry. Silk and satin pieces prefer a gentle hand wash in cold water, no wringing and no tumble dryer.
